New content! Since our last newsletter we have added over 60 titles to The Docuseek2 Collection. Of special note: From Collective Eye, Big Dream follows seven young women overcoming daunting challenges to succeed in STEM fields. And GTFO examines the discrimination and misogyny that girls and women face in the $20 billion video game industry. Bullfrog Films has added over 30 titles, many featured at the last National Media Market, including the lovely After Winter, Spring, an intimate portrait of a disappearing way of rural farm life in France; Code Black, a doctor's-eye view of an overloaded Los Angeles emergency room; A Fragile Trust, the story of disgraced New York Times reporter Jayson Blair; and Wrenched, a profile of generations of eco-activists inspired by Edward Abbey's The Monkey Wrench Gang. KimStim has two new titles, including Beltracchi: The Art of Forgery about legendary art forger Wolfgang Beltracchi; and Captivated: The Trials of Pamela Smart, a dissection of the media frenzy around the notorious 1990 small town murder and subsequent trial. Icarus Films has added the ambitious six-part series Capitalism by Ilan Ziv, a historic review filmed in 22 countries, and featuring many renowned economists, historians and anthropologists. Other new additions from Icarus include Althea, a profile of the pioneering African American tennis star Althea Gibson; experimental filmmaker Bill Morrison's resuscitation of World War I's cinematic record, Beyond Zero: 1914-1918; and Gabo: the Creation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the story of the Nobel Prize-winning author. But this is just a sampling of the great new content on Docuseek2. To search for all new films, use our Advanced Search tool, and search by Date Added. |

New collection configurations Over the next 12 months we will be adding close to 300 older films from the Bullfrog Films and Icarus Films catalog. These films will be part of a new Docuseek2 collection called The Docuseek2 Complete Collection. This collection will fill out to 1200 titles by the end of 2017. At the same time, we are also creating The Docuseek2 Essential Collection. The Essential Collection will contain most of the current Docuseek2 titles, plus newly released titles from our distributor partners, and fill out to 800 titles by the end of 2017. About 130 less used titles from the current Docuseek2 collection will move to the Complete Collection to make room for the newest films released by our partners. If your library wants the most comprehensive collection of documentary film, you will want to opt for The Docuseek2 Complete Collection. |
